EMPOWERED| International Women's Day 2014

Yet again, it is the day to celebrate being a woman, and for those who don't belong to this amazing species (do allow me to brag for one blogpost, this day only comes once a year!) then you are more than welcome to join.

Last year this time I blogged about the emancipation of women, and now this time I'm going to be all about their empowerment.  The past year has had some amazing events that have put feminism on the charts: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who refreshed the true definition of feminism, BeyoncĂ© who incorporated that into her ***flawless music. Rebel Wilson and Jennifer Lawrence who crack up the television screen with their witty remarks, Lupita Nyong'o who took the world by storm with her acting skills and has the best acceptance speeches ever. No seriously, they are really good. My faith in feminism has been restored.

But as we also celebrate the good, let us keep in mind that there is a flip side to every coin. Empowerment of all women: is that something too much to dream of?

So let us all take a day to commemorate the female species. Because just imagine what our world would be like without them. Exactly: nothing.

Have a great one.
